Copy of buckle in Urnes
style The original buckle was found in
the town of Roskilde, Denmark, and dates back to around the year 1000.
The buckle is typical of the Urnes style which belongs to the last phase of Viking art.
The Urnes style takes its name from the woodcarvings at the little church of Urnes in
western Norway. The buckle portrays a slender animal encircled by plants.
The buckle is available as brooch or pendant.
